An Auburn-based organization centered on benefiting young women will hold a clothing drive for professional attire Saturday. The event is sponsored by the nonprofit Beverly L. Smith Empowerment Organization, which is meant to connect young women to mentorship opportunities, break down barriers to professional success and provide college scholarships, initiative CEO and founder Melody R. Smith Johnson said. The drive will be held in front of Auburn Public Theater on Exchange Street. It will accept new or gently used size 0-18 professional clothing that can be worn at job interviews or at work such as suits, tops, bottoms, professional dresses, professional jewelry and handbags. ...
